NORWELL BASED PARTNERS BENEFIT GROUP SELECTED AS STRATEGIC PARTNER BY MEMBERS INSURANCE AGENCY
Will Take Lead On Employee Benefit Plans For Hundreds of New England Based Credit Unions

Norwell, MA (January 5, 2010) — Partners Benefit Group (PBG), a full-service employee benefits management company, headed by Mike McKenna, today announced it has formed a permanent alliance with Members Insurance Agency, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Massachusetts Credit Union League, the New Hampshire Credit Union League and the Credit Union Association of Rhode Island.

As a leader in creative cost containment strategies and with their direct claims management capabilities, PBG is able to create options seldom implemented by insurance generalists. Through its new alliance with PBG, Members Insurance Agency aims to maximize the value of the employee benefits programs being made available to the 256 credit unions located throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. This partnership formalizes the long-standing relationship PBG has had with Members Insurance Agency.

“We have enjoyed working with Members Insurance Agency for nearly ten years on their credit union business and are thrilled they have chosen to affiliate with us,” said Michael McKenna, President, PBG. “We look forward to applying our resources and leverage to create better and more economically advantageous benefit plans for our credit union clients, which, in this difficult time are more important than ever.”

Director of Account Service, Andy Hollatz, will continue to be the primary employee benefit interface for the credit union decision makers, including CFO’s, Benefits Managers and/or Human Resources Directors. Hollatz will now be formally backed by the PBG account service team in providing administrative support on questions regarding legal issues, compliance questions, COBRA and claims administration

Anticipating the move from traditional Managed Care health plans to the now more prevalent higher deductible HMO and PPO based Consumer Directed Health Care Plans, Members Insurance made the strategic decision to align itself with the recognized expert in the creation and management of these benefit plans. By choosing to partner with PBG, Members Insurance increased its ability to access benefit plans that reduce cost without significantly increasing out-of-pocket expenses to the employee or diminishing the overall quality of the plan itself. Members Insurance also recognized that these plans represent the best opportunity to obtain long-term premium stability.

As a result of this permanent partnership, credit unions will continue to enjoy these advantages as well as benefits that come from PBG’s preferred status with the major plan providers, comprehensive administrative resources and operational efficiencies.
